Among the many coffee shops in Japan, you may have noticed one with a retro feel and an Italian-style name and interior. This coffee shop is Veloce. It is one of the biggest coffee shop chains in Japan. Because of their cheap and good coffees, desserts and light meals, Veloces are often packed with customers. People go there to read, have a chat among friends or just grab a cup of coffee on the go.
Veloces usually have a mix of counter seats and table seats. The lighting tends to be warmer than most chain coffee shops and the Italian-inspired interior is somewhat reminiscent of the old Japanese kissaten (traditional coffee shop).
Iced Blend Coffee
Veloce has one of the cheapest blend coffees around. For 200 yen you can get a small size (which is quite large) and for 240 yen, you can get the large size. There are a variety of options for the coffees that include the cafe latte and the espresso.
For a light meal, the sandwiches are a popular choice at Veloce. You can choose from six different sandwiches that are all under 250 yen. Also, as you can see in this picture, the coffees also come in their iced version.
Veloce also has a selection of tasty morning sandwiches at a reasonable price that can be bought individually or as part of a coffee set. This chicken baguette sandwich made of rye bread sells for only 300 yen (450 yen for set)!
