Komeda's Coffee - Everyone's Favorite Cafe in Japan
Komeda's coffee (コメダ珈琲) is one of the most common and popular cafe in Japan. They offer very relaxing time with great coffee and food. Give it a try while you are in Japan!
Feel free to follow favy!
Komeda's coffee is a chain cafe originated in Nagoya. Established in 1968 and they have gradually spread all over the country, having around 700 shops today.
One of the best things of Komeda is its atmosphere. They offer cozy and comfortable place with nice decorations such as wooden walls and ceilings and comfy red chairs, which creates a warm atmosphere. They totally let you to have a relaxing time. Besides that, they are known for the good service with hospitality. These are big reasons why Komeda's coffee has been loved by both locals and visitors.
Great Coffee and other drinks
Their signature coffee is a Komeda's original blend that is roasted and extracted from selected beans, 400 yen. The coffee has a deep flavor which makes coffee lovers satisfied. When you put sugar and cream, it becomes even easier to drink.
Their drink menu is extensive. As well as coffee-based drinks like cafe latte, there are many drinks to try. Iced coffee with coffee jelly in it topped with whipped cream (above) is nicely bitter and sweet, added interesting texture of jelly. Milk shakes (below) come in a quit big and cute jar that also taste good.
This is my favorite, "cream soda" (500 yen). Isn't it so cute? It is a melon flavored soda float. I recommend you to eat a little of the ice cream on the top before you mix up because it is very rich and creamy!
Variety of food and dessert menu
They have a great selection of sandwiches, burgers, and other food menu. They are reasonable (400-800 yen) and large. This sandwich called "miso katsu" is a local food of Nagoya where Komeda's coffee was born. It is a special sandwich with rich miso sauce on the crispy deep fried pork cutlet.
Yes! They also have amazing desserts too! I'm obsessed with their signature dessert, "shiro-noir". This is a warm fluffy danish bread that is baked crispy outside topped with soft served ice cream and syrup on the side. The combination of the warm delicious and light bread and cold creamy ice cream is addictive.
As you eat, the danish bread soaks up the melted ice cream and syrup... incredibly good.
They have delicious pies, cakes and many other types of sweets too!
You can have a nice breakfast at this relaxing place to start your day. They serve free toast and boiled egg when you order a drink. The thick and fluffy piece of bread is nicely toasted, which goes well with butter and boiled egg.
