Sushi and more with the Tsukiji Fish Market walking tour!

Get an insider's look of the market by having a local guide from Magical Trip show you around. This is the best way to enjoy Tsukiji, because there are so many interesting foods and sights that are almost impossible to find on your own. The tour includes delectable seafood from the stalls at the market and also an impressive donburi (bowl of rice with lots of sashimi toppings)! You'll also get to visit a Buddhist temple and a Shinto shrine in the area.

See the link below for more information.

Sushi Zanmai Original Location すしざんまい 本店

This is where it all started in 1979, the first shop of the legendary restaurant chain Sushi Zanmai. It is synonymous with quality and affordability. So if you want a sure place to have great sushi without breaking the bank, Sushi Zanmai should be one of the top choices on your list. You can have awesome sushi plate for lunch for about ¥1,500 to ¥3,000. Also, try their kaisendon which are sushi rice bowls covered with various neta toppings.

Isozushi 磯寿司

Isozushi is a small, super quaint sushi bar in the Tsukiji market with only counter seats. You'll be glad you went there because the super fresh sushi sets are made with thick pieces of neta. If you've worked up an appetite, they have sets of 30 pieces that are just ¥2,400.

Okame おかめ

You should try standing sushi bars at least once. Okame is the perfect place to do so. The place is tiny with just room for 5 standing people. You get awesome quality at a bargain price. It's not uncommon for people to order a few drinks there too. Okame serves Asahi beer.

Tsukiji Sushisei 築地寿司清

Sushisei has around 70 seats so it's relatively easier to get in if you are going with a couple of people. It has an awesome traditional ambiance too. Their concept is to keep it traditional so they serve the edomae-style of sushi (authentic Tokyo style). You can get lunch sets for around ¥1,500.

Sushi Dai 寿司大

Sushi Dai is one of THE most popular sushi restaurants in Tokyo and is located inside the Tsukiji fish market. You should expect to wait 2-3 hours to eat here. So why do people wait for so long to eat here? It's because you can enjoy traditional, high-end Edomae sushi for only ¥3000. As it is located inside the fish market, the chef chooses the best fishes in the morning to make his sushi. The store closes once the sushi runs out, so if you are an early bird, perhaps start lining up from 5:00 AM is best.
