Ramen Nagi rightfully can boast about its "sugoi niboshi soup" which is its amazing dried fish broth. Dried sardines are often used in Japanese cooking as an ingredient from which to make soup stocks. Nagi uses as many as 20 kinds of dried fish to make its secret soup. The result is a rich taste that is 100% natural and so addictively delicious!

You get outstanding soup made from niboshi, but the other ingredients are extremely nice as well, and the noodles vary in thickness because they are homemade!

Ramen Nagi has 12 locations in Tokyo. The franchise is only found in the nation's capital. What's great about this franchise is that many locations are open from lunchtime until the wee hours of the night; Some are even open 24h. The one pictured above is the original one located on the second floor of a building in the Golden Gai district of Shinjuku. It is the original Ramen Nagi joint! This one is open all day.

The Ramen

For ¥1,100 you can get the standard ramen with all its delicious, fresh ingredients. You get a half-boiled mineral-salted egg, tender pieces of roasted pork filet, fresh green onions and domestically-produced seaweed. The noodles are Nagi's original. They have a nice chewy texture.

You can order extra toppings (pork, seaweed, green onions, and eggs) for about ¥100 per kind.You can also order "tsukemen" which means that the noodles will be served separately with a dipping sauce. Beer is available for ¥400.
